It all started with a "NO". When I was growing up, I would often visit my Grandmother. She supported herself by creating the most beautiful dolls and realistic stuffed animals. I was fascinated with what she made and would watch her for hours as she crafted these wonderful creations. When I was 12, I asked her to make me a horse that looked like a ~horse~ not a fat legged stuffed toy. She told me "NO, but I will show you how." We created that first horse together and I still have it. It is hideous by most people's standards but is one of my most precious treasures. I kept sewing and improving my skills, and when she told me that I had exceeded HER skills it was one of the proudest days of my life. I was 17.

Eventually I brought a few of my creations to school and to my surprise my classmates asked if they could buy them! This lead to suggestions I sell my creations at the local science fiction convention. That first convention was in 1983. My love for Mythology and Fantasy and my unique designs blended well with the Science Fiction and Fantasy crowd. For the next 15 years I traveled to conventions all over the Country and Canada. This lead to my meeting fellow artists, exchanging ideas, teaching classes and even being asked as a Guest Artist at a convention.

From 1989 to 1994 I had a booth at the local Renaissance Festival here in Minnesota and that allowed me to reach an entirely different market. As the years passed and my skills grew I found myself enjoying the challenge of creating the special or custom orders my customers were requesting. In the late 90's I left the Science Fiction Convention circuit and devoted myself to improving my internet presence. I found myself receiving orders from all over the world, England, Australia, Japan, Canada and of course the United States.

My current focus is selling custom sculptures through this website. In the very near future I will be offering patterns from my retired creations, as well as offering soon to be retired completed sculptures on occasion.
